  Rocky Mountain Popcorn Company, Centennial, CO is voluntarily initiating a nationwide recall of 1,603 bags of Low Fat Caramel 9 oz. Popcorn (in the green bag). This recall is on the Low Fat variety only. An ingredient in this product has been found to contain a trace amount of tree nuts, which potentially could cause an allergic reaction to any person with a tree nut allergy.

5. Salmonella Triggers Another Calif. Spinach Recall
  A California produce company recalled bagged fresh spinach Wednesday after it tested positive for salmonella. There were no immediate reports of illness linked to the tainted spinach, distributed by Metz Fresh LLC of King City. The recall comes nearly a year after an outbreak of another pathogen, E. coli, in fresh spinach killed three people and sickened another 200.

Shanghai Palace
Shanghai Palace advertises Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese food. Right away, this gives me pause. Why do they serve all three? Why can't they just pick one? I like simplicity and order, and I find this "tri-specialty" cuisine puzzling. Two bites into dinner, however, the skeptic in me feels quite silly. All that ranting was for nothing. Shanghai Palace serves Chinese food favorites like kung pao chicken ($8.50) and moo shu pork ($8.95 while deftly offering Thai chicken panang ($8.50) and Vietnamese pho soup ($6.50) for the more adventurous diner.
